On December 2, we together with children from schools from Sofia and Pernik painted at the 23rd “Frederick Joliot-Curie” Secondary School in Sofia. We called our meeting “Children’s Creativity and Tolerance”. The children painted a story we wrote. The fairy tale about the Green Elephant with the Red Trunk.

The mood was more than cheerful and sunny, despite the bad weather outside. We dedicated our initiative to December 3rd, International Day of People with Disabilities. Our children delighted us with the most beautiful drawings we could expect. So beautiful drawings that CIL will publish a booklet, which we will illustrate with some of the drawings. We will also have a Christmas exhibition with children’s pictures that will visit all participating schools, but we will start with the 23rd Secondary School.

We gave the kids cards with “The Five True Miracles That Ever Happen to Us” –

Miracle # 1 – When you love and respect someone, he or she surely becomes a person worthy of be loved and respected

Miracle # 2 – When you think of others as good, they are always beautiful

Miracle # 3 – The offered friendly hand is like the root of a plant – always gives strength

Miracle # 4 – Everyone has the right to be different and that is exactly the most wonderful thing that can happen to us

Miracle # 5 – Green elephants with red trunks are not often seen, but anyone can have them.

The Miracles are a part of the fairy tale, and our hope is that they will always happen in our lives.
